Geoff Lamond
Geoff Lamond is recognised as one of the leading, up and coming skippers within the New Zealand game fishing industry. With more than 15 years of professional game fishing within New Zealand, and international experience crewing on some of the world's top game boats in Australia, the Azores, Vanuatu, the Cook Islands and the Indian Ocean, Geoff has developed an impressive resume.Through growing up in a fishing family and constantly reading books and magazines, watching old movies and gazing at old fish mounts from international 'hotspots', Geoff developed the fishing bug as a youngster that obviously still lies with him today.
Geoff has been lucky enough during his career to work with some well-known national and international captains. Australian captains Brian Felton, Ross Finlayson and Tim Dean, and the late Joe Franck from the Azores are all highly regarded operators that Geoff has been able to develop his knowledge and skills under.
Geoff first became involved with well known charter boat 'Outer Limits' as a crewmen and part-time skipper back in 2003 and was lucky enough to be at the helm for the men's 4kg Striped Marlin World Record in 2005, plus being involved in three other world record claims as a crewman and establishing 'Outer Limits' as New Zealand's premier light tackle boat.
New Zealand is home to some of the largest Swordfish, and unquestionably the biggest Striped Marlin in the world. New Zealand is also home to huge variety coastal fishing and activities.
