Light tackle sport and bottom fishing in the Hauraki Gulf is generally excellent year round, providing great action and good eating.The Hauraki Gulf provides a huge variety of fishing opportunities from destinations such as the Coromandel Peninsula, Great and Little Barrier Islands and further north to the Mokuhinau Islands.
Winter, spring and early summer can be great for targeting Snapper, Yellowtail Kingfish, Trevally and deeper water specimens such as Hapuku and Bass.Outer Limits is well set up to cater up to 6 anglers plus 2 crew and will ensure everyone is in great comfort and well looked after on day or overnight excursions. An in-board dive compressor is also available for any groups hoping for a feed of Crayfish or just purely a scenic dive.
The cockpit of Outer Limits is also well set up, with two large live-wells for keeping yellowtail mackeral, slimey’s and Koheru alive for live baiting, plus excellent refrigeration to keep your catch chilled down nicely.
Tackle consists of the finest Penn and Abu Garcia reels in line classes ranging from 80lb deep-water tackle through light spinning outfits suitable for soft-plastic fishing. Soft baits have really taken off over the past year or so, they have not only
bought a real fun element to snapper fishing, but above all else they work really well.
Geoff hopes to teach anglers something new that they may not have tried previously and increase the enjoyment factor of the trip.
