Outer Limits

Outer Limits was built in 1996 by Australian-based boat manufacturers Riviera. Since 1996, she has had a number of additions and alterations, including a refit in 2004-05, to make her customised to New Zealand chartering.

At 48’ in length she is certainly large and stable enough and has a good hull design to handle the sometimes-rough New Zealand conditions. The cockpit is well organised, with good storage facilities enabling it to remain uncluttered while fishing. Two large live-wells and four tuna-tubes are great additions for many of New Zealand’s fishing scenarios.

Outer Limits is powered by twin 600hp MTU’s to give a 19kt cruise and 28kt top speed, plus a 11kva generator which supplies an abundance of 240V AC power supply to run all the all auxiliary equipment for your enjoyment and comfort whilst on board. This includes a fresh water maker, convection oven and stovetop, dishwasher, large refrigeration, icemaker, air conditioning, TV, DVD, video, stereo, and a dive compressor… all making extended charters or day trips an enjoyable experience.

She’s fully equipped with the latest in Raymarine electronics - autopilot and PC based navigational equipment, plus a Wesmar sonar, which is a great fish finding addition. She’s also fully equipped with all safety gear as per MSA regulations.

The boat is fully equipped with a full range of tackle, from heavy tackle through light tackle spinning gear suitable for soft-plastic fishing.

Outer Limits spacious layout can comfortably cater for 5 anglers plus crew on extended charters, or up to 20 passengers on corporate day or evening cruises. ‘Outer Limits’ is one of the most versatile charter boats available as it is more than suitable for extended game fishing expeditions and bottom fishing trips through to inshore corporate charters.
